The Russel Hill Cancer Foundation held its 4th Annual White Linen and Wine event at Clearview Cancer Institute on Saturday, February 16, 2013 in honor of cancer survivors Anne Boles and Michael Worley. Guests who arrived at the event were greeted with glasses of complimentary blush champagne to enjoy while perusing items available for bid at the extravagant silent auction.
The evening included an upscale wine tasting, which featured an amazing array of wines, all rated 90 points and above, with catering by Lyn’s Gracious Goodness. An exciting live auction included autographed SEC footballs, rare collectible wines, and an African safari for two to the prosperous South African province of KwaZulu-Natal in Hluhluwe. Attendees received the “red carpet treatment,” which included a photo op with pictures to commemorate the evening, which are available for purchase through the foundation’s website. Guests danced the night away to live music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s provided by Replay Band of Florence, Alabama.
Every dollar donated to the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation stays in the area and supports bold, innovative cancer research, education, and patient assistance at the local level.
